The umbilical cord represents the inseparable bond I have with my children, my origins, my family and my history. It represents a deep emotional and cultural connection. The combination of photo prints and transparent embroidery serves to reinforce this theme. While the photos capture moments and memories, the embroidery, with its plant-like, organic forms, illustrates the fragility, intensity and elusiveness of human connections.
