SHADOWS IN THE WIND (video, 4:14) – the changing seasons in my garden interwoven into a digital embroidery and soundscape.
I filmed this video in my garden at various times throughout the year to capture the changing seasons. In this intimate setting, I can observe and admire nature's ongoing development year after year. I moved my camera around in a circular motion. These movements are doubled and mirrored to create dynamic patterns that reflect the wonders of nature, resembling embroidery and lace-like structures. The video's complex patterns have also been used to develop the sound by transforming them into digital sounds that simulate natural ones.

CARROUSEL (01:21) Me, my lipstick and the carrousel. In the carousel video a woman, unperturbed, repeatedly attempts to apply lipstick while the carousel spins and spins, the sound becomes increasingly shrill and time passes.
The video is about ageing and the unperturbed passage of time.

LIQUID THOUGHTS with sound! (02:14) The video 'Liquid Thoughts' opens with pulsating shadows. A red liquid appears, gently vibrating and blurred, while the tinkling sound of a spoon echoes. Dark ink then flows into clear water, slowly filling the image with sepia-coloured strands that resemble thoughts flowing out. The sound of flowing water enhances the dreamlike atmosphere. Gradually, the image clears. The tinkling returns. A face appears, lying on its side and slumbering in a dreamlike state.
HAZE (01:47) Almost every morning I walked to the lake just below the cabin where we lived. Often I made a short video of the fine dancing haze rising from the surface of the water. I stayed in this special place during the Artist in Residence of Akunzo (Karola Pezarro & Aris de Bakker) in Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. Akunzo realised in the forest of Bernheim the 'in situ' work OXYGEN. See also the video OXYGEN about the work we created.

VISIONS (09:53) Visions is a video-sculpture for the light-festival Winterlicht 2015 in Schiedam, The Netherlands. It is about the Visionary and her visions. One sees a sequence of film clips on a floating circle between the branches of a big tree. Images from the news, stop-motion movies and personal film material. Our version of heaven and hell, of the paradise and the most terrifying, probably originates in our own perceptions, memories and in the chemistry of our brain. So we are making a second, or a personal reality. But what does that mean: reality?

BOWLS (13:21) Een videofilm, geprojecteerd in vijf gipsen schalen. De installatie BOWLS is voor het eerst getoond tijdens de tentoonstelling ERGENS ANDERS in het CBK Emmen. Bij de ontwikkeling van dit project heb ik samengewerkt met Ludmila Rodrigues. Geluid: Niels de Bakker.
