mutual secrets
These embroideries are about what it means to be human, about fears, secrets and fanning thoughts, about the self and the other, about love and belonging. The works represent awareness of the incomprehensible. They are about a very personal world. But when you look at them, you can probably make your own connection to them. The 'figures’ are put together creating a tension in the work, a sense of narrative and atmosphere.

The photos of the work are made on a wall in my studio.
The installation consists mainly of thread, embroidered 'by hand' with a sewing machine.
The parts of the installation hang a few centimeters from the wall,
so that shadows, spaciousness and a vulnerable lightness are created. |
